Terms of service

x402receipts is a service that records purchases made over the x402 protocol by software agents, checks those records against public blockchains, and anchors a cryptographic fingerprint of them on a public ledger so they can be verified later. By sending receipts to the service, paying for them, or signing in to it, you agree to these terms.

1. What the service does

For every receipt an agent sends to POST https://app.x402receipts.com/api/v1/receipts, we store the receipt, compare it with the payments we can see on the relevant blockchain, group it with others into a batch, and write the batch's Merkle root to the Hedera Consensus Service. We give you a monthly register of what your agents bought, from whom, for how much, and whether it was delivered, and a public verification page for each receipt.

We are a record-keeper. We do not hold, move, or have any access to your funds, your agents' funds, or their private keys. We are not a payment processor, a custodian, a bank, or an auditor, and the records we keep are not legal, tax or accounting advice.

2. Accounts and wallets

There is no signup. A wallet that pays for a receipt becomes an account. A person signs in by signing a message with a wallet; the signature proves control of the wallet and grants access to the receipts filed under it. Signing a message never authorises any transfer of funds.

Connecting another wallet to your account requires a signature from that wallet. You are responsible for the wallets you control and for anyone you give access to them.

3. Price and payment

The price is USD 1 per wallet per calendar month (UTC), paid in USDC over x402 on Base or Solana by the wallet with its first upload of the month; every upload from that wallet for the rest of the month is free. Each payment is authorised by that wallet for that exact amount; we cannot charge more, charge again, or charge anything you did not send us. A wallet that already paid a month is never charged for it twice. There are no minimums and no other fees.

Payments are final once settled on-chain. Given the amounts involved, we do not issue refunds for months that were opened. If a payment settles but the receipt is rejected (for example because it is malformed), write to us and we will make it right.

We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice on this page. A price change never applies to receipts already sent: the price is stated in every 402 response before an agent pays, and a month already paid stays paid.

4. What we promise, and what we don't

We work to keep the service available and to anchor every accepted receipt within 24 hours (receipts are grouped and anchored nightly). We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Reading blockchains depends on public infrastructure we do not control, and a payment can be missed or matched late; the on-chain record itself is always the authority.

A receipt is a statement made by the agent that sent it. Reconciliation shows whether a matching payment exists on-chain; anchoring shows that the receipt existed, unchanged, at a given time. Neither proves that the goods or services were actually delivered, unless the seller signed the receipt too.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

5. Acceptable use

Do not send receipts for purchases that did not happen, use the service to launder or misrepresent activity, attack or overload it, or try to gain access to accounts that are not yours. We may refuse, hide or remove receipts and close accounts that break these terms.

6. Your data

How we handle data is described in our Privacy policy. In short: receipt contents stay in our database and are shown only to accounts that control the wallet; only cryptographic fingerprints are written to the public ledger.

7. Ending the service

You can stop using the service at any time; simply stop sending receipts. If we ever wind the service down, we will give at least 90 days' notice on this page, keep exports available during that time, and the proofs already written to Hedera remain verifiable by anyone forever, independently of us.
